What's on the tables shifts by week, but the core is consistent: fresh produce, plants and orchids, local honey, baked goods including gluten-free options, nuts, handmade jewelry and wood crafts, and pet treats. The produce vendor moves quickly. If you want first pick on eggs, meat, or seasonal fruit, arrive closer to 9:00 than 11:00. The park itself is shaded enough to stay comfortable through late morning, which matters in a Florida summer where outdoor plans usually collapse by noon.
A note for pet owners: dogs are welcome on leash, and there's enough grass around the perimeter to keep a larger dog occupied while one person shops.

The mid-morning drift east
From Central Park, the natural next move is Colonial TownPark, a 24.44-acre mixed-use development west of I-4 at 950 Market Promenade Avenue. It's the closest thing Heathrow has to a downtown block. Errands here are efficient because parking is centralized and the tenants are grouped tightly enough to handle four or five stops on foot.

Paradise Grills is worth naming specifically because it's not the kind of store you expect in a lifestyle center. It's a showroom for outdoor kitchen islands and bar builds, and it's useful if you've been putting off the lanai upgrade. Pierce Custom Jewelers is family-owned with an on-site master jeweler, which means repairs actually get done in the building rather than shipped out for weeks.
Boca handles the mid-morning transition well. Brunch runs on weekends with bottomless mimosas, the sidewalk patio faces the promenade, and the industrial-farmhouse room is quiet enough to sit through a phone call if the family scatters to run errands.
Where dinner actually happens
The dinner map inside a ten-minute drive of Heathrow is denser than most residents realize. The trick is matching the restaurant to the night, not the other way around.
When you want the room to feel like an event. FishBones in Lake Mary is the big-swing option. It's a multi-room build with a sushi bar, an indoor lounge, and an outdoor bar where tables have their own gas fireplaces. Seafood is flown in daily, steaks come off a citrus-and-oak wood-burning pit that runs at 1,200 degrees, and the prime rib is slow-roasted for 23 hours. When it's a steakhouse night. F&D Prime Modern Steakhouse in Heathrow runs a Prime aged-steak program, and it's usually easier to book same-week than FishBones. Ruth's Chris Steak House at Colonial TownPark is the third option, with the standard 1,800-degree broil and 500-degree plates that keep the steak hot through the meal. Three viable steakhouses inside one small corridor is unusual for a Central Florida suburb.
When you want sushi and a late seat. Amura at Lake Mary/Heathrow runs dinner until 10:30 PM Monday through Wednesday and 11:00 PM Thursday through Saturday, with Sunday service until 10:00 PM. Live acoustic music from vocalist and guitarist Greg Eyma runs Thursday nights and Saturday nights, and valet parking is available Thursday through Saturday. Order the Heathrow boat if the table is up for a family-style sushi and sashimi spread.
When you want something newer. Tamara Lake Mary is a recent opening built around a fusion of Indian, Thai, and Chinese flavors, positioned as fine dining rather than casual. Zacapa Mexican Restaurant & Bar and Pisco Peruvian Gastrobar round out the shortlist for anyone tired of the steakhouse circuit. Pisco's garden patio is the sleeper pick.
When brunch is the plan, not dinner. Another Broken Egg Cafe at 920 International Parkway, inside Central Parc at Heathrow, runs a Southern-inspired brunch menu with a full bar. It's the closest walk-in brunch to most Heathrow homes.
When the table is casual. Stonewood Grill & Tavern in Heathrow is the reliable weeknight-tier option for a group that doesn't want to overthink the reservation.
The pattern worth noticing: this corridor holds fine-dining fusion, three steakhouses, sushi with live music, a Peruvian gastropub, a Mexican bar, and a Southern brunch spot inside a very small footprint. The reason to know all six or seven is that Friday reservation windows close early. If you're the household calling at 5:00 PM for a 7:30 seat, the first-choice room is already full. Second and third choices are the point of a corridor like this.
The AmStar wildcard
AmStar Cinemas at Colonial TownPark is the piece that ties the block together. The screens run IMAX, GPX at The Grand, Dolby Atmos surround, Christie Laser Projection, and RealD 3D, and the seats are leather recliners with in-theatre dining service. Beer, wine, and frozen drinks come to the seat.
Two ways residents use it that visitors don't:
- The heat-window fallback. Central Florida afternoons from roughly 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM are unpleasant outside from May through September. An early-afternoon show at AmStar is the reset button when the pool and the yard aren't working for the kids.
- The reservation-fell-through save. If your 7:00 PM at Boca or FishBones didn't confirm, the walk to AmStar is about two minutes. Dinner in the recliner solves the problem without leaving the block.
One weekend a year, the block changes
The Lake Mary–Heathrow Festival of the Arts turns Colonial TownPark into a two-day open-air gallery once a year. It's now in its 37th year, hosts more than 200 exhibits of art and craft, runs a Children's Creative Village sponsored by Disney, and books live entertainment across both days. The Seminole County Tourism Development Council has recognized it as one of the county's premier events.
The detail worth knowing as a resident: all proceeds fund art scholarships for Seminole County high school students heading to college, plus supplies for local elementary schools. If you've lived in Heathrow long enough to have kids in the county system, the festival is directly funding art programs your children or their classmates use. That's a different conversation than "there's a craft fair this weekend."
Parking on festival Saturday is tight. If you can walk or bike in from the Heathrow side, do it.
The rhythm most residents settle into
After a season or two in the neighborhood, most households converge on a version of the same weekend:
- Saturday 9:00 to 10:30 at Central Park for the market and a lap of the shaded paths
